Before you can submit certified payroll reports (CPRs), you’ll need to add the workers assigned to your project. Kaster uses this information to validate payroll data, calculate wage rates, and auto-generate WH-347 forms and workforce compliance reports.
✅ Worker Information You’ll Need to Complete this Step:
- Each worker’s full name and profile information (home address, last 4 SSN, gender, ethnicity, and race)
- Classification(s) they perform under (e.g., Laborer, Operator, etc.)
- Base and OT hourly pay rate (per classification)
- Fringe benefit credit amount (if applicable)
- Certifications (e.g., Apprenticeship, OSHA 10, Section 3) (if applicable)
👤 How to Create & Add Workforce Members to a Project
- Click on the Project.
- Navigate to the project's Directory tab and select your Company.
- Click on the Workforce tab.
- Click the Add New Workforce Member / Manage Workforce button.
- ⚠️ See below 'How to Add Existing Workers to a Project' to add existing workers to a new project.
- Click the + CREATE NEW button to create a new worker.
- Fill in the required Profile fields.
- Next, in the Classifications tab, add their Classification(s) along with the Base Rate of Pay, OT Rate of Pay, and then click the Save button.
- ⚠️ If a worker performs multiple classifications, be sure to list each separately with its associated Base Rate of Pay by clicking the + Add New Classification button.
- ⚠️ If a worker performs as an Apprentice under a Classification, be sure to select their Worker Type as Apprentice and define their Apprentice Level, as well as their Base Rate of Pay % and Fringe Rate of Pay % based on the wage determination documentation associated with the project. Refer to the Apprentice article to see details on how to manage and calculate these input for an apprentice worker.
- ⚠️ Note: Do not modify the fringe rates for a classification at the bottom unless completely necessary. Only use this if a worker has different fringe rates for different Classifications. You can modify those hourly fringe rates by clicking Fringe Rate Overrides Only on the bottom section of each Classification to adjust those rates.
- Next, if applicable, in the Benefits tab, select the benefits attributed to the worker and enter the Hourly Benefit Credit rate for each associated benefit and click Save Benefits when done.
- 💡 Tip: If you’ve already set up your fringe benefit plans in Step 2, you can assign benefits plans to each worker during this step for easier reporting.
- Next, if applicable, in the Certification Requirements tab, enter their certification information and upload any associated documentation (Section 3, OSHA 10, Apprenticeship ID, etc.). Click View to open the certificate screen, upload the files and click Upload.
- Repeat the above steps for each worker.
